I'm loving Sarah Haskins !

Through Jezebel I was introduced to Target Women and to the lovely and funny Sarah Haskins. Sarah pokes fun at how advertisers market to women and she kills it!

To see more Sarah, go to http://current.com/ and the search for Target Women. The Yogurt Edition is hilarious!

Happy Dee Day!

Hope y'all don't mind me giving myself a shout out.

Mmmm, look what I got for breakfast!

We're down to the last trimester!

Woohoo! The first peak at season 5 of Lost is finally making it's way around the net!

Thanks, love and reverence to Andy at DarkUFO for allowing me to embed! There are some awesome things coming up, stuff you may not catch just by watching the trailer. You can check out still photos though on Dark's site by going here...

And then clicking on Click to View Photos.

Only 3 more months to wait! Come on late January/early February!

Be nice to me, I gave blood today...

After going into Dublin and getting my hair done...

...I went over the Red Cross and gave blood, something I'm very good about doing every 8 weeks or so.

Farhod was my vampire today.

There it goes.

And now there it is, resting before leaving on its quest to save lives.
Bye bye blood! It was fun.

Guilt free Papaya and Guava juice with a side of Cheez-its to build up the strength, they were out of the cookies I usually have.

The Red Cross is always in need of donations.
If you can, please donate soon and often!

Project Runway...

So they had the finale last night and Leanne won. I can't argue that, she had some lovely clothes out there. Regardless of Kenley's personality and the possibility that she stole her ideas, I really did like her designs. They were fun and kicky. I really love this dress and wish I had one to wear for New Year's!

How much fun is this?! I just love it.

Well, I know the other gals are happy about who won, except maybe Carol who was rooting for Korto. I did like Korto's dresses more seeing them in action on the runway rather than just in photos. Aside from the colors Korto chose, I didn't think any of them had a real 'wow' factor though.

My other Kenley designed New Year's dress, once I lose that last 80 pounds.

Okay, so now that show is done for the season, bring on Top Chef! I'm having Colicchio withdrawl.

I'd like you to meet Bo...

Bo was living in the backyard at work and he was just the sweetest thing so I decided to take him home. He was much too much of a love bug to live in that grimey old shed. Of course I took him to the vet's first where I found out he was under weight and probably had a cold or other respiratory ailment and has some dental issues.

It's Bo time!

About a week and a half later he's no longer so boney, he's stopped sneezing being so drooly and that weird smell he had is gone. He's just the sweetest little purr factory. Even Bunny seems to like him...

Come and knock on our door...
The really nice part is that Bo let Jim pet him. Doesn't sound like a big deal but at our house this is big! I could rub Jim down with Chicken and Liver feast laced with catnip and the cats still wouldn't have anything to do with him so he was quite pleased to have a cat around that didn't run away everytime he exhaled.
Welcome to the family Bo!

So far, so good...

I wasn't really talking about it in case I failed (yet again), but I thought I would come clean since it's going well. I stopped smoking. I had my last cigarette on October 5th and have now started my 10th tobacco free day.

It's so much easier when you're really (really) ready to stop. It's still not easy easy, but easier in general. I gave myself permision to eat guilt free for the first week and pretty much ate myself sick with chocolate and sugar. I'm now back on the healthy eating program to minimize damage and making an effort to get some exercise. It is enjoyable not feeling like I smell bad all the time. I don't know if it's due to the patches I'm wearing or the fact that I'm getting more oxygen to my brain, but I've been having the craziest dreams. I've been in a thriller with Brad Pitt and on a cruise with the Jonas Brothers. I don't even really know who the &*%# the Jonas Brothers are, I just see pictures of them around, but their Disneyness is in my head man!
The one downside to this is that my yards aren't getting watered because I'm not outside all the time anymore. Oh well, I hate most of those plants anyway. So, wish me luck. I've made it to the double digits, the next goal is triple digits.

Feel better soon girls!

Diane and Lora have both been under the doctor's knives in the last week and I would like to wish them both speedy recoveries!

The smoldering eyes of Sam Elliot hope you get well soon!

Just some pics of Jim and the car....

Jim works on the car, Caltrans style.
It's best to make sure you put the hood back on when you're done working on the car for the day.

Probably accurate.

Actually Jim installed this dashboardish thing today. That big green button is going to start this car some day.

The car phone.
It's on the outside but still handy in an emergency.

Calling for an abatement...

Can you believe the nerve? Someone abandoned their old junker in front of our house

Of course this fine metal steed isn't an abandoned old beater, it's a race car! Damn skippy! Here is the Faster Farms entry for the 24 Hours of LeMons race coming up in December and I couldn't be more proud to have it sitting in front of my house. The car will be here for a few days getting some wiring done if any hot, half dressed ladies would like to come lay across it. A perfect opportunity to take those glamour tool catalogue shots you've been wanting.

Apparently it handles really well, so says future LeMons racing champion and famed songwriter Jack Astro. You can check out his hit single The Project Car Hell Song here..

It's a real toe tapper!

Jack Astro, ya move me!

Don't take my Taffy away!

Mother's cookies has gone away. No more heavily iced circus animals with sprinkles? No more Taffy cookies? But those are the best. This is a sad day. I'm running out to get some today, while I still can.

A day at the races

Spent the day at Golden Gate Fields with Sue, Dora, Annalee and Sharon.
Had a great time and didn't put out that much money. Ya gotta love dollar day - dollar to get in, dollar to park, dollar program, dollar beer and hot dogs. Throw in a beautiful day and you can't beat it. Well, winning more would have been nice but you can't have everything.

The $3 lunch

This guy was great, not only did he play the usual starting trumpet bit but he also performed La Bamba, Celebrate and Tequila. I was the only one who yelled Tequila on cue and I could tell he appreciated it.

This is Top Broccoli, the only horse who helped me get some of my money back. This beauty paid me back $1.40 on a $2 bet. Yeah baby!
Broccoli rules!

We had great seats at the finish line.

Definitly going to have to go again.

D'oh!

Happy Birthday Debbie!

I realized I forgot to give Debbie a birthday shout out. Her birthday was September 20th and I'm a pathetic idiot!

Happy Birthday Debbie!
Love ya Girlie!

This is what I would have gotten you for your birthday if I knew where they sold them.

Camping pics

Okay, here are the camping pictures you know you've been dying to see!
We camped at the Narrows Resort in Blue Lakes, just outside of Ukiah. While I would say that the word resort is a little misleading, it was a nice place to go to if you have tent campers as well as those who prefer a cabin. The sad and terribly adorable thing about this site was the amount of stray kittens in the area, there must have been about 50 kittens running all around waiting to steal your food.

Kittens of the corn!
(For some reason this pic won't enlarge, if it did you would see all their eyes are glowing. It's creepy yet cute.)

Ya gotta love a jar of moonshine!

Took my first jetski ride on this beauty. Too much fun! Next time we go camping we are definitly renting one! I'll try to get the video up soon.

Blue Lake pics...

The Fam hanging out

They had several boats you could rent, including these very neat peddle boats that Kelly's daughter and her friend rented.

The party moved to Lake Mendecino for the afternoon.

Kelly and Tim.

Jane and Syd

Jane makes a lovely ballerina!

Syd getting a ride.

I have to say I love this 'after' photo.

Doesn't everyone jetski with their dog?

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that after we got back from Lake Mendecino, two drunks tried to swim across Blue Lake and didn't quite make it. Several ambulances showed up and whisked one guy away and we hadn't heard about the second guy at that point. A couple of minutes later a rescue helicopter flew in and started hovering over the lake looking for the second guy. We heard the next morning the they had found him but we weren't told what condition he was in.
Kids, please don't drink and swim!

Happy Birthday Carol!

Carol's birthday isn't until Friday but that didn't stop us from starting the party early. The Carol's Birthday Safety Meeting was held at Dora's and following a delicious lasagna dinner, we tucked our forks into Sawyer!

Sawyer cake!

A little dark but still tasty none the less. I would have tried to get a better picture taken without the flash had I consumed a bit less wine by that point, had a bigger viewer on the camera and was wearing my glasses.

This is the photo we gave to the bakery. (Merritt if you happen to have a special event coming up)

It goes without saying that Carol liked the cake and only slices cut from around the side of the photo were given out. The rest was all hers.

Happy Birthday Carol!
