They had armadillos in their trousers!

Went to see Unwigged and Unplugged last night! This is a performance by Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer, the guys who formed the band Spinal Tap. It was awesome!
Saw them at the Paramount, a good sized venue but you still get a good view of the stage. We had front row balconey seats so that was cool.

They played an all accoustic set of all their songs which included songs from Spinal Tap but also songs from the movie A Mighty Wind, a movie about the folk singing genre. They're fabulous! Their harmonies were outstanding and they're excellent musicians.

They played for about a full two hours and were able to take small breaks by occasionally playing videos. They played a clip from Spinal Tap's first ever video that appeared on a show called The Tv Show in 1977 and a funny psuedo-documentary about cheese which featured Ed Begley Jr and a wee Jake Gyllenhall.

There was even a little Stonehenge!

Which was trod upon by trolls.

They did one funny bit where they read comments by the network sensors about problem bits the movie Spinal Tap would have when played on network television. Apparently "We have armadillos in our trousers", a bit about a foil wrapped cucumber and the entire song Sex Farm were too much to show the audience at 11:30 at night.
The show was just a lot of fun. And you know they won me over when they thanked the audience for coming out on a Wednesday night and missing Lost to come see them. They suggested we just go to the Orchid and turn the frozen donkey wheel so we can still see the episode. Oh I love them so!
