DWTS - What the hell man?

Dancing with the Stars began it's new season this week and we were told that two stars would be going home. Well they kicked off the two people I voted for and I'm quite put out about it.

Jeffrey Ross was the first to be let go on Tuesday night

Jeffrey Ross wasn't the best dancer but he was trying hard and even took a finger to the eye from his partner (hence the eye patch), also he's a comedian and I love comedians and was looking forward to his sticking around for at least a couple of weeks.

Ted McGinley was next, let go on Wednesday night...

I thought Ted was off to a pretty good start, he wasn't the best dancer but he did a pretty decent job and looked pretty dashing at that. So much for the every day guy on the dance floor.

So as it stands the season is ruined for me, I just don't care much for the other contestants. While I love Cloris Leachman and am rooting for her, I don't see her winning. Her lovable antics are going to get tired soon though I do enjoy the crap she gives the to judges. I guess I'll tune in (and probably fast forward a lot of) the rest of the season until Cloris finally goes home as she's the only good thing left. Or maybe I'll start another book.

Oh, and Susan Lucci, please listen to Carrie Ann! A cheeseburger will only do you some good.

4 years ago today...

4 years ago Oceanic Flight 815 crashed on a deserted beach and my addiction began.
Happy Anniversary Losties!

Desmond (sexy and doing pullups) didn't show up for another year, but I can't leave him or his beautiful back out of the post.

Dim Sum and Tacos

Had a nice day yesterday, Katherine was in town from Colorado so we met her and Phil for a dim sum brunch at East Ocean (I think that's the name) on Webster. She was sweet enough to post this photo of our brunch on her blog for me to pilfer (with much love and appreciation )

Everything was really good but I particularly liked the pork buns, but then I've always loved a pork bun.

Jane and Sydnie showed up later in the day and we ordered in from Papa Pancho's (no photo available). Unfortunately my soft tacos were lousy with cilantro and onions so Jane was nice enough to switch with me. It didn't even occur to me that yesterday was our anniversary but no matter, we spent it with friends and family and it was nice.

I miss you much already!

Mr. Moose got hit by a car this morning. Rest in peace my stinky man.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Beware of Willows after dark!

Jim spent the weekend in Willows doing an engine swap on the race car. Apparently the guy (Alan I think) wanted to wrap it up before dark because once the sun goes down the mosquitos are all over you like sequins on a drag queen.

They wrapped up fairly soon after dark but Jim still has two legs lousy with mosquito bites. They're looking worse now than they did Sunday. So he shows me his legs and I say "Oh, let me get a picture" to which he replies, "No". I say "Come on, you look awful, let me take a picture" and he says "No, get away from me with that camera". I know, can you believe the nerve? So since he wouldn't let me take a picture, I'm using this photo I found online in a dramatic recreation.

(In the interest of decency I've covered his special area with a picture of our Commander in Chief. (Cover one with one, ha!)

Apparently this poor guy got bit by the wrong mosquito. Use your bug spray honey! Niether of us want this to happen to you!
